SANTA ROSA, CA -- Jan 14, 2008 -- Steve Schneider, CEO of electric car pioneer ZAP (OTC BB:ZAAP.OB - News), says that ZAP is 'racing' to meet the opportunities that exist today in electric transportation. The Company has meetings over the next two weeks to further its business plans with various people and businesses in 12 cities, seven countries.

"The timing could never be better for ZAP's business plan," said Schneider. "In 1994 ZAP set out to create cost-effective electric vehicles because we knew that gas prices would continue upwards and people would start looking for alternatives. Well, that future is now and ZAP is racing to meet these opportunities."

Albert Lam, former CEO of Lotus Engineering, will be traveling with Schneider. Mr. Lam was appointed to ZAP's Board of Directors in November. He was instrumental in establishing a joint venture between ZAP and Youngman Automotive, one of China's leading bus and truck manufacturers. Mr. Lam has been named Chairman of the new Joint Venture Company with a focus on creating a line of electric and hybrid cars, trucks and buses.

Schneider said he plans to hold meetings in Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Jinhua, Nanjing, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Amsterdam, London, and Dubai. The meetings taking place are with manufacturers, technology suppliers, investors, banks and distribution partners.
